Clearfield is home to a significant number of veterans—around 1,940 individuals aged 18 and over (2019–2023) Census.gov. This represents a substantial part of our community. In comparison, Davis County as a whole has approximately 16,654 veterans, with around 8.0% of residents being veterans Census.govabc4.com.
A User-Friendly Veterans & Military Resource Hub
I will prioritize remaking the Clearfield City website to include a dedicated tab on our city website for “Veterans and Current Military.” This streamlined hub will:
- Offer direct links to federal, state, and local veterans resources, from healthcare and housing to career support
- Spotlight nonprofits and community partners assisting veterans in Davis County
- Share updates on city events and programs supporting military families
- Create easy access for both veterans and active-duty families especially for those new to Clearfield
Enhancing Local Support Networks
Clearfield must go beyond digital resources by:
- Partnering with Weber and Davis counties to expand veteran housing, mental health services, and job placement programs
- Collaborating with the Utah Department of Veterans & Military Affairs to bring more state support to our veterans
- Ensuring all city events and facilities are accessible and welcoming to service members and veterans
