Champion For Graduation

Justice For Rave

My son Rave ran up against some unfortunate circumstances with Davis School District and Layton High School this spring as graduation was drawing near. I posted an online petition to try and help Rave be granted his cap and gown (that we paid for) for pictures the day of graduation.  Karece saw our online petition and reached out to offer his insightful support, time, and advocacy, even though he had never met us before, and there was nothing in it for him.  He deeply believes in accessibility and rallied for Rave.

Karece wrote an articulate letter/email championing Rave’s cause to our Utah State School Board Members, and helped us get in contact with our District representatives.  He shared Rave’s story at a political education retreat that led to more communication and opportunities for students like Rave.  His selfless investment and sincere concern for equality are admirable qualities and priceless attributes.  We all need someone like Karece in our corner!
